Collection: AGM Deep Cycle Batteries

Shop 12V AGM deep-cycle batteries for caravans, camping, 4WD auxiliary systems, boats and off-grid solar storage. Compare capacities from 40Ah to 200Ah, including single batteries and selected twin packs, then match your battery to the loads, charger and available installation space.

Choose an AGM Battery Capacity

Capacity Approx. nominal energy at 12V* Typical planning use
40Ah–50Ah 480–600Wh Compact 12V systems, lighting and moderate accessory loads
75Ah 900Wh Additional fridge, lighting and accessory runtime
100Ah–120Ah 1,200–1,440Wh Popular caravan, camping and auxiliary-battery capacities
135Ah–140Ah 1,620–1,680Wh Higher daily demand where weight and space allow
170Ah–200Ah 2,040–2,400Wh Large AGM storage systems with suitably matched charging

*Nominal energy is not the same as recommended usable energy. Runtime depends on the load, battery condition, temperature, discharge rate and the manufacturer’s depth-of-discharge guidance.

AGM Batteries for Caravan, Camping and Solar

AGM batteries are sealed, low-maintenance lead-acid batteries designed for repeated cycling. They remain a practical option when you want dependable 12V storage, familiar AGM charging compatibility and a lower upfront cost than many lithium systems.

Popular options include the 12V 50Ah AGM battery, 12V 100Ah AGM battery, 12V 170Ah AGM battery and 12V 200Ah AGM battery. For paired installations, compare the 2 × 100Ah AGM battery pack and other twin-pack options in this collection.

How to Size Your AGM Battery

Start with the energy your appliances use each day in watt-hours, not just their peak wattage. Allow for the manufacturer’s recommended depth of discharge, appliance duty cycle, cable losses and inverter losses. A fridge, for example, cycles on and off, so measured daily consumption gives a better sizing basis than its instantaneous power rating.

Charging and Installation

Use an AGM-compatible solar controller, DC-DC charger or mains charger configured to the battery manufacturer’s charging profile. Incorrect charging voltage or current can reduce capacity and service life. Secure the battery, protect positive cables with correctly rated fusing and use cable sized for the current and run length.

An MPPT solar charge controller can manage compatible solar input, while a DC-DC battery charger can support vehicle-based auxiliary charging. If you need 240V output, match one of our power inverters to the battery bank’s safe continuous discharge capability. Follow all manufacturer installation and ventilation instructions, including for sealed AGM batteries.

AGM Battery FAQs

Is an AGM battery suitable for solar charging?

Yes, when used with a compatible controller configured to the correct AGM charging profile and kept within the battery manufacturer’s charge-current limits.

Can an AGM battery run a power inverter?

Yes, when the battery’s discharge capability, state of charge, cabling and fuse suit the inverter’s current demand. High-wattage 12V inverters draw very high DC current, so assess the complete system rather than amp-hour capacity alone.

Can two AGM batteries be connected together?

Compatible batteries may be connected in parallel to increase amp-hour capacity or in series to increase voltage, but they should be the same model, age, capacity and state of charge. Use balanced cabling, appropriate fusing and equipment rated for the resulting bank voltage and current.

Should I regularly discharge an AGM battery completely?

No. Repeated deep discharge can shorten AGM service life. Follow the battery manufacturer’s depth-of-discharge and recharging guidance.
