The Renogy Rover Li 40A MPPT solar charge controller manages compatible solar charging for 12V and 24V battery systems. It combines a 40A charge rating, up to 100V PV input, an LCD interface and optional Bluetooth monitoring for caravan, RV and off-grid solar installations.

Solar Array Compatibility
Do not size this controller from panel wattage alone. Calculate the array's cold-weather open-circuit voltage and parallel-string current, then confirm both remain within the controller limits. The total connected solar power must also remain within the applicable 520W limit for a 12V battery system or 1040W limit for a 24V system.

Battery Charging and Monitoring
The Rover provides four-stage charging for listed lead-acid batteries and two-stage charging for lithium batteries, including lithium reactivation. Lithium setup requirements differ from lead-acid operation; the existing manufacturer information notes that manual configuration is required for 24V lithium systems.
Remote monitoring requires the optional Renogy BT-1 Bluetooth module connected through the RS232 port. The module is not included with this controller.
Choosing Panels and Batteries
Compare our 300W solar panels, 400W solar panels and 500W solar panels, then verify each panel's Voc and Isc against the final array design. Pair the controller with a compatible lithium battery or AGM battery.

Can this controller run a 400W solar array on a 12V battery?
Potentially. A 400W array is below the listed 520W limit for a 12V system, but the array Voc, Isc, wiring configuration and battery charge limits must also comply.
Is Bluetooth included?
No. Bluetooth monitoring requires the optional Renogy BT-1 module.
Can it charge lithium batteries?
Yes, a lithium profile is listed. Follow the manufacturer setup requirements, particularly for 24V lithium systems, and confirm the battery permits the selected charging voltage and current.
